faux billy balls

It's raining today.
It's been raining a lot lately.
But I do love a rainy day when I don't feel guilty about lounging around my apartment being lazy :)
I decided to tackle a small project on my craft list: faux billy balls. I found a really neat DIY tutorial on designsponge.com, but of course I couldn't find the required wool roving I needed at the craft store so I made do without! It was SUPER easy (and doesn't really need a tutorial at all). But here is my version anyway :)

What you'll need:

yellow yarn; floral cloth wire (both $1.99 ea at Michael's)

1) Start the yarn in a knot and begin creating a small ball.

2) When the ball is about an inch and a half wide, cut the excess yarn and tuck in the string. I secured the tucked end piece with a small dab of glue.

3) Insert the floral wire in the ball and VOILA! there you have it.

A couple more will give you a cute little faux billy ball bouquet :)

So, yes I realize I went a little overboard on the post... haha but whatever I like taking pictures!
