bathroom revamp

My roomamate and I currently live in a rental townhome where we aren't allowed to paint.. so, unfortunately, there isn't much we can do to make the place our own. Since I have to work with white walls the best I can, I did a little makeover to my bathroom to help spruce it up some. I am happy with the outcome, even though its not a huge change!

Before:

(yawn..)

After:

(yay!)
Ok.. so all i really did was change the shower curtain, put up a shelf, and get new towels.. but regardless, it's a lot brighter and happier and i enjoy it a whole lot!

birthday week!

So.. I turned 24. Crazy. In the words of a text from my sister "it's really weird that you're 24" - she's right, it really is..! So much has happened and so much has changed in the past year of my life. I have SO much to be thankful for. My friends and family made my birthday really special. I had a small cookout on my birthday day and we feasted on hotdogs, pasta salad, pink lemonade, strawberry layer cake, and HOMEMADE grape soda ice cream! Here are a few photos :)

Then on Friday, my parents, sister, and my sister's friend came up for dinner and pinkberry.

The headband above was a birthday gift made by my friend, LD - it is seriously one of my top 10 favorite gifts of all time!

midnight rooster: hartsville, sc

I can't believe it's already June (and also my birthday month)! Birthday festivities started off with a nice, little trip. Yesterday I only had to work half a day so Kevin took me to Hartsville, SC to visit a friend of his who owns a coffee shop/eatery called the Midnight Rooster. We walked around downtown and sat at a wine/beer shop called Vintage. Then we had dinner with Jeremy and his wife, Jessie at the Rooster and it was amazing!

..Then we sat and listened to music and hung out at Jeremy's home (which was sooo neat) until we all went to bed.

This morning we woke up and got breakfast and walked around hartsville's "good living marketplace" which is only open the first saturday of every month, so we definitely went the right weekend! Of course I had to take a picture of my breakfast, which was a phenomenal crepe filled with spiced apples, yogurt, and pecans topped with caramel drizzle and whipped cream (AHHmazing).

(sometimes he likes me..)

and then we drove home :)
Happy Weekend,
M.
