faux billy balls

It's raining today.
It's been raining a lot lately.
But I do love a rainy day when I don't feel guilty about lounging around my apartment being lazy :)
I decided to tackle a small project on my craft list: faux billy balls. I found a really neat DIY tutorial on designsponge.com, but of course I couldn't find the required wool roving I needed at the craft store so I made do without! It was SUPER easy (and doesn't really need a tutorial at all). But here is my version anyway :)

What you'll need:

yellow yarn; floral cloth wire (both $1.99 ea at Michael's)

1) Start the yarn in a knot and begin creating a small ball.

2) When the ball is about an inch and a half wide, cut the excess yarn and tuck in the string. I secured the tucked end piece with a small dab of glue.

3) Insert the floral wire in the ball and VOILA! there you have it.

A couple more will give you a cute little faux billy ball bouquet :)

So, yes I realize I went a little overboard on the post... haha but whatever I like taking pictures!

a wanderer

So I up and went to Spain and Portugal last week. I have a wandering soul and I love to travel, so I convinced my girlfriend, MC, to go and she brought her friend along too. We planned out our journey [Madrid -> Sevilla -> Barcelona -> Lisbon -> Madrid] and booked our hostels, but the rest was up to us, some maps, and our backpacks (which I impressively lived out of for 10 days). It was an absolutely incredible trip. Here is a very short photo preview of our little adventure.

a dreamer

"The biggest mistake people make [in life] is not making a living at doing what they most enjoy."
-malcom forbes

More and more these days, I find myself desperately searching for the "something else." The "something else" that inspires me and motivates me. Don't get me wrong, I am very thankful for what I have, but life is too short and wonderful to waste it away on spending your days doing something you couldn't really care less about. I wish I could take my advice as easily as I can give it :)

On that note, if I could drop everything right now and be anything/everything I wanted - I would be this:

..

a pastry/bread baker
a gardener
a flower arranger
a world traveler
a produce stand owner
a wife
a momma

..

i hope my dreams come true one day. i hope all of yours do too.
